Description
The vehicle electric water pump is an adjustable speed water pump with a brushless DC motor driving the impeller. The automotive electric water pump uses a controller to drive the brushless motor to rotate.
The auto electric water pump can be used in the vehicle main cooling system, auxiliary cooling system, battery pack cooling system and other energy storage equipment, etc. Provides energy for coolant to flow to various heat dissipation locations, allowing various thermal control systems to play their best role to ensure its stable operation.
In addition to the basic functions, the electric car water pump also has corresponding protection functions.
Structural composition
This series of electronic water pumps are brushless motor driven canned pumps.
The main components are as follows:
A brushless DC motor consists of a rotor assembly (including an impeller assembly, a bearing cover assembly) and a housing stator assembly (including bushing parts);
A controller (PCB assembly) for communicating with the main control unit to control the brushless DC motor;

Function Description
| 1. Pump protection strategy | |||
| 1.1 Reverse connection protectionWithin the normal working voltage range, when the positive and negative poles of the power supply are reversed, the pump stops working and does not feedback any signal, but it will not be damaged. It can work normally after reconnecting the power supply in the normal way.
1.2 Over-voltage protection When the power supply voltage is greater than 19V (±0.5V) for 0.5s, the pump stops working and feedbacks a fault signal. When the voltage is lower than 18V (±0.5V) for 1s, the pump restarts. 1.3 Under-voltage protection When the power supply voltage is less than 8V (±0.5V) for 0.5s, the pump stops working and feedbacks a fault signal. When the voltage is higher than 9V (±0.5V) for 1s, the pump restarts. 1.4 Stall protection When there is foreign matter in the pipeline causing the rotor to get stuck, it will automatically stop working and feedback a fault signal, and restart again after 3s. If the fault is not eliminated, the pump will keep restarting. 1.5 Idle protection When the pump speed is greater than 4000rpm, if the power consumed by the pump is less than 13W, the pump will enter the low-speed operation state, stop running after 15 minutes, report the fault, and recover after powering on again. If the pipeline of the pump returns to normal during the low-speed operation, the pump will exit the low-speed operation state. 1.6 Over-temperature protection When the MCU temperature exceeds 150℃, the pump stops working and feedbacks the fault signal. When the temperature is lower than 145℃ for 5S, the pump restarts. 1.7 Over-current protection When the pump current is detected to be greater than 35A, the pump stops working and feedbacks the fault signal, and restarts again after 3s. If the fault is not eliminated, the pump will keep restarting. |

| 3.1 | The water pump must be installed horizontally along the axis. The installation location should be as far away from the high temperature area as possible.
It should be installed at a location with low temperature or good air flow. It should be as close to the radiator tank as possible to reduce the water inlet resistance of the water pump. The installation height should be more than 500mm from the ground and the water pump is positioned about one-quarter of the tank's height from the base. |

| 3.2 | The water pump is not allowed to run continuously when the outlet valve is closed, causing the medium to vaporize inside the pump. When stopping the water pump, it should be noted that the inlet valve must not be closed before stopping the pump, which will cause sudden liquid cut-off in the pump. | ||
| 3.3 | It is forbidden to use the pump for a long time without liquid. No liquid lubrication will cause the parts in the pump to be lack of lubricating medium, which will aggravate the wear and reduce the service life of the pump. | ||
| 3.4 | The cooling pipeline shall be arranged with as few elbows as possible (elbows less than 90 ° are strictly prohibited at the water outlet) to reduce pipeline resistance and ensure smooth pipeline. | ||
