Electric air conditioning compressors: the thermal management core of new energy vehicles

With the rapid iteration of the new energy vehicle industry, electric air conditioning compressors have evolved from a single cabin temperature control component to the core power unit of the vehicle's thermal management system, and are widely applied in scenarios such as pure electric, hybrid, commercial vehicles, and energy storage systems. They contribute to enhancing vehicle range and improving driving and riding experiences with their features of high efficiency and energy conservation, intelligent regulation, and high-voltage integration.

Unlike the belt-driven mode in traditional fuel vehicles, the electric compressors in new energy vehicles are driven directly by high-voltage permanent magnet synchronous motors and feature a scroll structure design, enabling wide-range stepless speed regulation and precise matching of cooling and heating demands. They can rapidly cool down in high-temperature summer conditions and significantly reduce heating energy consumption when combined with heat pump systems in winter, effectively alleviating the decline in range at low temperatures. Additionally, they support independent temperature control when the vehicle is stationary, meeting the needs of scenarios such as resting during parking and preheating for fast charging, completely eliminating the reliance on the engine.

Current mainstream products are upgrading towards high-voltage platforms, integration, low noise, and lightweight designs. Technologies such as 800V high-voltage architecture, SiC power modules, and integrated electric control compressors are accelerating their implementation, balancing energy efficiency and reliability, and are suitable for all types of new energy vehicles including passenger cars, logistics vehicles, and ride-hailing vehicles. As the integration of thermal management systems continues to increase, electric air conditioning compressors will further play the role of an "energy consumption optimization hub", providing key support for the green and intelligent development of new energy vehicles.
