Working Principle of Car Heater

The car heater, also known as the parking heating system, is an auxiliary heating system on a car. It can be used after the engine is turned off or during driving.
The working principle of the parking heating system is to extract a small amount of fuel from the fuel tank to the combustion chamber of the parking heater, then the fuel burns in the combustion chamber to generate heat, heating the engine coolant or air, and then dissipate the heat to the compartment through the warm air radiator. At the same time, the engine is also preheated. In this process, the battery power and a certain amount of fuel will be consumed. Depending on the size of the heater, the amount of fuel required for heating each time varies from 0.2L to 0.3L.
The parking heating system is mainly composed of air intake supply system, fuel supply system, ignition system, cooling system and control system. Its working process can be divided into five working steps: air intake stage, fuel injection stage, mixing stage, ignition combustion stage and heat exchange stage.

When the switch is started, the heater operates as follows:
1. The centrifugal pump starts pumping test run and checks whether the water path is normal;
2. After the water circuit is normal, the fan motor rotates to blow air through the air inlet pipe, and the dosing oil pump pumps oil into the combustion chamber through the input pipe;
3. Ignition plug ignition;
4. After the fire is ignited at the head of the combustion chamber, it will completely burn at the tail and exhaust the waste gas through the exhaust pipe:
5. The flame sensor can sense whether the ignition is ignited according to the temperature of the exhaust gas. If it is ignited, the spark plug will be closed;
6. The water is absorbed and taken away by the heat exchanger and recycled to the engine water tank:
7. The water temperature sensor senses the temperature of the outlet water. If it reaches the set temperature, it will shut down or reduce the combustion level:
8. The air controller can control the intake volume of combustion supporting air to ensure the combustion efficiency;
9. The fan motor can control the air inlet speed;
10. The overheat protection sensor can detect that when the temperature is higher than 108 ℃ due to no water or blocked water path, the heater will be automatically shut down.
Because the parking heating system has good heating effect, is convenient to use, and can also realize remote control operation. In cold winter, the car can be preheated in advance, which greatly improves the comfort of the car. Therefore, it has been used as a standard configuration in some high-end models, such as the imported Audi Q7, BMW X5, the new 7-series, Range Rover, Touareg TDI diesel, imported Audi A4 and R36. In some alpine regions, many people pay their own money to install them, especially for trucks and RV used in the north.
