High Voltage Electric Defroster Description
Electric Bus High Voltage Defroster specifically designed for pure electric buses, directly powered by the vehicle's high-voltage traction battery (DC 300-800V, mainstream 600V/750V). It uses a PTC ceramic heating core to generate hot air, which is blown onto the windshield to melt frost, ice, and eliminate fog. Some integrated models can also provide cool air for cooling the driver's cab in summer.
Core Working Principle
High-voltage power supply: Draw DC high voltage from the bus power battery, controlled by high-voltage relay & insulation monitoring module for safety.
PTC self-temperature-limiting heating: PTC ceramic generates heat via Joule effect; resistance rises automatically when overheated to cut power output, avoiding dry burning.
Low-voltage air circulation: 12V/24V DC blower draws air, passes through the heating core to form hot air, then delivers to windshield air outlets.
Defrost & defog: Hot air raises glass temperature to melt frost and evaporate water mist, restoring driving visibility.
