The EV Oil Free Scroll Air Compressor uses oil-free scroll compression technology and air cooling for heat dissipation. It provides oil- and carbon-free air, long service life, no lubricant replacement, fewer moving parts, simple structure, and high reliability. It requires no oil filters and produces no waste-liquid disposal. There is no risk of oil leakage, and no condensate collection is needed, allowing reliable operation in demanding environments. Preventive maintenance is minimal—about 1.5 hours per year to inspect the filter and check for blockage. The system also offers very low lifecycle cost and can operate across a 0–100% duty cycle.

Compared with other positive-displacement compressors, the scroll design offers many irreplaceable advantages. It is compact, lightweight, and simple. Its main components are only about one-tenth those of a reciprocating compressor, while volume is reduced by roughly 40% and weight by more than 15%. Suction, compression, and discharge occur simultaneously and continuously. Because suction and discharge chambers are not directly adjacent, leakage is lower and efficiency is higher. The working chamber does not connect simultaneously to suction and discharge ports, so no suction or discharge valves are required. This reduces flow losses, eliminates valve impact noise and related vibration, removes a group of wear-prone parts, and improves reliability.

The suction period is much longer than in other compressor types, and the intake process is an active containment action rather than passive suction, even producing a supercharging effect. Volumetric efficiency is therefore exceptionally high. Multiple working chambers operate together, so driving torque fluctuation is only about 10% of that in rolling-piston or reciprocating compressors. These features give the oil-free scroll compressor excellent thermodynamic and variable-frequency characteristics, making it highly suitable for clean-air, energy-efficient applications in new energy commercial vehicles.
